Fun Taiwan : Yehliu Geological Park (野柳地质公园)

It's been 13 days since the last update...... A short update of myself before proceeding to my adventure of "Fun Taiwan".

Well, finally Boo was out of the "cage" on 10 September to a potluck dinner which had been invited by a forum's friend - Yack Yack a.k.a Jack Law. It was a fun night, although it had been raining cats and dogs and unexpected situation like I forgot to bring the house's keys which made my dad waited me until 1A.M. in the next day. (Gomenasai, dad!!!) I was totally "TARPED" by the green tea drinks and delicious food. (3 cups in just 1 night... Crazy!!!) Met more new friends in person from the forum such as : Nex, Town, Jean, Nicholas. And of course had a great laughters with the movie we watched - Spaceballs.

Ahahahha... That's made my day.

Followed by 11 September, attended my colleague - Bevina Au and her hubby Thomas's big day events (Morning: wedding reception at Sacred Heart Cathedral & followed by a wedding dinner at May Flower Restaurant in the evening) It was my first time attended a Roman Catholic's wedding reception. I was a bit touched when they played this particular of song "The Wedding" by Julie Rogers. Well, wondering when I get the chance??? Guess, never happen to me in this life. Hur.... Hur.... Hur....

To: Thomas & Bevina,

Wishing both of you have a great marriage life, and it's fate which drove both of you together, let's treasured each other and God's work. Cos not everyone given the privilege like both of you had.

Ooops, sorry!!!! Am I made my intro too long???? Better get back to my story of Taiwan. The first travel spot on our second day in Taiwan was "Yehliu Geological Park (野柳地质公园)".

We were staying in Hotel Exterior (快捷假日大饭店)for our first night upon arrival.

A comfy bed but I couldn't sleep well either in my entire Taiwan's trip.

Almost getting up 3A.M. in the morning every morning.

One weird phenomena you will get to see in Taiwan is that - Sun rises in Taiwan faster than sun rises in Malaysia.

These photos proved that what I'm saying: (Took it 5A.M. in the morning inside my hotel's room)

So after finished our breakfast in the lobby, we headed to Yehliu Geological Park (野柳地质公园).

Before I leave you with eye-catching photos, here are some details of the Geological Park:

Yehliu is a cape of about 1,700 meters long formed by Datun Mountain reaching into the sea. When overlooked from above, the place is like a giant turtle submerging into the sea. Thus, it is also called "Yehliu Turtle". Because the rock layer of seashore contains sandstone of limestone texture and it is subject to sea erosion, weathering and earth movements, there is particular scenery consisting of sea trenches/holes, candle shaped rocks, and pot shaped rocks. The place is divided into three sections. The first section has rocks like Queen's Head, Fairy's Shoe and Candle. The second section has rocks like Bean Curd, Dragon Head. The third section has sea-eroded caves, seal shaped rock, etc. The place is suitable for geological study and field research. In addition, there is a statue of Lin Tien Jane in commemoration of the person's bravery of scarifying own live for saving others. The monument describes in details the touching story. There is a marine world in Yeliu. The marine world is the first marine center in the country for exhibition of ocean evolution. It has the best sightseeing tunnel under sea, showing about 200 rare fish species and marine lives. The area of marine live specimen demonstrates many specimens of precious marine mammals and fish. It is very educational. There are excellent shows of whales, dolphins and seals, such as diving, ballet on water and other talent shows. There is a stadium with 3,500 seats. On holidays, the place attracts many visitors for the show. When you visit Yeliu, don't forget to visit sea world and feel the marine wanders.

The Queen's Head

Fairy's Sandal

Mushroom Rock

Ginger Rock

Some other Formation Rocks as well....

Pedestrian Bridge

Last but not least.......

A memorial for a man who lost his life while saving some kids who fell in the water

That's all for now.... Coming up next, I will bring you all to Jiu Fen (九份) another old streets where you can find all sorts of tit-bits and I did find my "LOVE" here. Wanna know what izzit??? Come join me in my next blog post. Till then, I'm signing off. Yeehaa!!!!!
