365 Days Of Memory : Day 94 - Always 17

I shall remember this date whenever I'm sipping my bubble jelly tea or iced lemon tea.

This is what happened this morning :

I was too tired working in front of my computer from 8A.M. till almost 12 noon without giving my eyes and muscles any rest. So I had decided to take a break, since my stomach is "crying" for bubble jelly tea at the time. And without thinking any further, I dragged my feet headed to the school's canteen. (There ain't any students in the canteen in this hour since their recess time had already over.)

I picked this Canteen A because they have bubble jelly tea (We got altogether 3 canteens in the school). And I have to admit it, I only pay a visit to the canteen once a while during my 6 years of employment in the school. So, I won't blamed anyone of them if they don't know that I'm actually a staff from the school.

So, below is the conversation in between me with one of the Canteen A's worker :

Me: Hello, may I have a cup of bubble jelly tea, please ???

Worker A: *Staring at me from head to tail* Recess time is over, student cannot buy food and drink in this hour.

Me: *Smiled at her* (MUTE MODE)

Worker B: (She knows I'm actually staff of the school) She is not a student.

Worker A: *Shocked with mouth opened wide* I'm sorry, our bubble jelly tea is out of stock.

Me: It's ok, a bottle of Iced lemon tea then. *Throwing a smile back* (But in my mind saying "Hello, I'm in my working clothes and not with my school uniform, please.")

Haha.... I think this is the 3rd case already people miss-judged me by my look and my height (150cm). Not bad huh ??? 17/18 years old look in a late 20's years old's body. LOL !!! Will share with you all, my other 2 stories next time. Good day!!!

365 Days Of Memory : Day 68 - 1,800 Versus 18,000

Urgh....!!!! So finally I can blow out all my bad gases now. What a big relief for me at last. The guests who were came all the way from National University of Singapore (NUS) for their short visit to our school and doing research on our local's culture in our school's library had left us. Whenever there are visitors about to visit, the whole school is like "attacked" by a massive "Tsunami". Everyone was busy like for the whole week with a return of 15 mins "Stop By" by the guests.

Since I had been told early on that the guest was a Chinese. And they might more focusing on the Chinese section (My section) . So, I need to navigate and give explanation to them. Along the entire process, I had made a silly mistake due to my sudden nervous. Honestly, I seldom speak in public where thousand pairs of eyes staring at me at one times.

To cut it short, here is the part of conversation where I made a mistake while navigating the guests with the accompany of few library teachers touring around the bookshelves :

Me : There you go, Sir!!! Here are our bookshelves..... bla....bla.... bla...
(Stopping by Chinese section)

Guest A : How many books do you have in the whole library ?? (With a serious face)

Me : Around 1,800, Sir. (Nervous mode on + an "Oh no!!!!" face)

(Straightaway knowing that I had made a mistake, I re-corrected my statement right after we (me and another library teacher) thrown an eye contact to each other.)

Guest A : 1,800 ??

Me : Yes, Sir. 1,800 for Chinese books only as for the whole library, we have around 18,000. *PHEW!!!!* That was close!!!!

Dang me!!!! How can I messed up 1,800 with 18,000 ??? Just because a "o" , it's already a big gap there. Hope I wont be repeating my mistake again in future.

365 Days Of Memory : Day 39 - My New Boyfriend

Seriously, I'm not those kind of girlish girl who will drag along Barbie dolls with me wherever I go. But, I do have a collection of soft dolls which they had been sharing a single bed size with me for the past 8 years. So now, let me introduce my "boyfriends" to all of you:

Lil' Piggie (1# Boyfriend) - A gift from my buddy (Imelda) & ex-colleague (Tommy) during the first year on my first job.

Mr. Garfield (The love of my life ) - A birthday present from my buddy (Imelda).

Bob Bob - Bought it myself during my family trip to Kuala Lumpur few years ago.

Lil' Doggie (My current boyfriend now) - Just got it today from my friend (Winx). And it was actually my 28th birthday's gift in 2010. (Half years ago. Hahaha.... But only I got it today.)

There you go.... All my "Boyfriends". Ain't they all handsome ??? Heh... Heh...

365 Days Of Memory : Day 38 - Red Envelope From Colleague

Gah......!!! First day of school, it's never been a good feeling for me, no matter during my time studied in the school few years back, or back to school for my working life currently. The feeling of being lazy to drag my body up for school ten years ago and ten years later now still the same. The only different now is, I got extra red envelope when I got back to school during Lunar Chinese New Year, which I won't get it ten years ago as a student. Heh... Heh... Thank you !!! "Mr. Johny Walker" for the red envelope :D
